What is a Pete Stain? To better understand this, one must accept the artist responsible for leaving such marks pays no mind to the mess. Petey does not have a style, medium, or subject matter to attach to himself. Instead he will utilize whatever material is needed to imprint the current idea into the universal clay. The ‘soul’ objective of his art is to keep dialogue open while searching for truth.
With a home base in Pittsburgh, Petey has been painting, illustrating, animating, and crafting these permanent visuals for over a decade. During these years he has had the opportunity of leaving his stain as a t-shirt design for actor Danny Trejo, an animated music video for underground punk legends the Murder Junkies, and displaying his art through many cities including Chicago, New York, and D.C.
When Petey is not spilling his thoughts onto the canvas he is recharging in the wilderness, fighting corruption, or investigating what it means to be human. He has also had the blessing of being able to take his artwork on the road while traveling for his day job.
From all of his experiences, a perpetual stain is curated between life and the artist known as Petey.
