"I draw digitally in photoshop on my Cintiq for all of my animation work. I enjoy it, but I needed a reason to get back into watercolors, gouache, and pen and ink. A lot of my favorite characters and artwork that I've created have been in traditional mediums. So as a children's book sample piece, I created Moon Man and The Cloud Ruins. I did a few sketches before finally arriving at this design. I wanted to make a kind of classic looking man-in-the-moon face, but then give the character my style and a personality of its own." - gregery miller
