roger steffens - the family acid
Roger Steffens is a photographer, reggae archivist, author, actor, DJ, lecturer, and decorated veteran. He has been taking photographs since the early 1960s, documenting his unorthodox life and experiences. About 10 years ago, Roger's son Devon scanned his slides and negatives and his daughter Kate began posting them to Instagram under the moniker The Family Acid. The Instagram account led to the publication of three books and one zine of photography and reminiscences. As of 2024, Roger has shot approximately 40,000 Kodachrome slides, hundreds of thousands of black and white and color negatives, and countless digital photos, most of which are being seen by the public for the very first time. Along with his photography books, Roger is the author of So Much Things to Say: The Oral History of Bob Marley.
