mathieu bitton
For two-time Grammy-winning artist and Leica Camera ambassador Mathieu Bitton, what you hear and what you see are one and the same. Bitton has excelled as a photographer, designer, director, and producer. Music has always served as his primary inspiration as well as the thread between all mediums. Colors and music notes have similar shades; lyrics and hand-drawn lines have similar themes.
In Bitton’s collection for Moonlight Arts Collective, each genre of music has its own visual world – jazz takes on certain hues, while rock n’ roll is another vibrant texture completely. For Bitton, art simply does not exist without music. And this special way of merging both forms is what has lead him to become one of the music world’s most sought-after photographers and designers. As art director and designer, he has created album covers and packaging, as well as videos, photographs, logos and more for some of the most iconic artists and records of the last century.
His vast body of work contains photos, album packaging, merchandise and poster art for a who’s who of musical history, including Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Jack White, Sting, Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Jane’s Addiction, Bob Marley, Quincy Jones, James Brown, George Clinton, Earth, Wind & Fire, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Dolly Parton and many more. If there’s a musical artist that moves you, the odds are pretty high that Mathieu Bitton has collaborated on their visuals.
