Formed over a friendship spanning two decades, this series is sure to be a memorable one. Read on below to find out more about Moonlight Art's Collective's debut release...

"I’ve known Brian Bowen-Smith for almost 25 years and one of the things that he and I have always had in common is our love and appreciation for art and the creative process. Over the decades and amongst countless conversations he and I have mused about collaborating in some visual sense; combining Brian’s photography with my painting, to be sure. This first Moonlight Arts Collective release is the culmination of twenty something years of those musings, and I am so thrilled to have finally bitten the creative bullet with one of my oldest friends in the world...

...The subject of these first pieces is the celebrated dancer, actor and producer Sarah Hay. She seemed to be the perfect subject for this initial foray into painting on photographs as she herself is art in motion. Her highly specialized talent for movement really made the process quite easy for both of us, as we merely had to be in the right place at the right time to capture this unique human. Brian photographed her in her native garb and I mimicked the movements with oil pastel and high hopes that I wouldn’t sully what I thought to be an already perfect set of images." - Brandon Boyd

"Shooting with Sarah is always so exciting and exhilarating. I learned so much about dance. She is just like wind. She just flows. I really had a blast shooting Sarah...

...one of the reasons that I love photography, sometimes you can plan things and think you’re going to get a certain thing, and then all these beautiful images appear that you didn’t even know you were going to get. It’s always surprising. The good thing is once you get it you have it for the rest of your life." - Brian Bowen Smith

"Collaborating with Brandon and Brian is beyond special. I’ve not only been a fan of Brandon and Incubus most of my life, but I also have a beautiful unique connection with him. It’s an honor to muse for such a prolific artist. Then add Brian, who is the king of portraits, and the gratitude I have being in front of his camera… it’s an actual dream. "  - Sarah Hay
