After living in Florida her entire life, a little bit of a quarter life crisis had April Seelbach itching to escape her hometown. In 2015 after buying an Astro van, painting it seafoam green in her backyard, and selling all of her belongings, she took off on a transformative journey. She spent hundreds of hours on the road exploring and photographing the western U.S. She began creating handmade prints to sell at markets and slowly experimented with the addition of paint to the photos. Eventually this grew into her current style of psychedelic digital collage. She has always been influenced by 60s patterns, style, and color schemes, which were already incorporated into her daily life. It made sense to include those themes in her artwork as well, combining her love of the west with her love of all things retro.
